Yolanda Denmark Obituary

"PLEASE AT THE REQUEST OF THE FAMILY, SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE PRACTICED AND WEARING A MASK IS MANDATORY"

On Friday, May 21, 2021 God sent his angel and one we love and knew stepped across the threshold that we call death, to be reunited with our heavenly father.

Yolanda Yvette Harris Brewton was born on February 4, 1971 in Gainesville, Florida to Mary Britton and the late Walter Harris, Sr. She was one of 22 siblings.

Yolanda met and received Christ at an early age and was baptized by Elder D. J. Berry at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, Ft. McCoy, Florida.

Yolanda received her education through the Marion County Public School System.

Yolanda (Lena) as she was affectionately called by her family was a firm believer in God and she loved him dearly. She would pray with you and pray for you and if there was anything God (DAD) as she called him told her to tell you, she would and her words always were “Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just telling you what he told me to tell you”. She loved her daughters, grandchildren, and her family dearly. She was a straight shooter and if you did not want the truth, she was not the person to ask.  She was loving, caring and was willing to help anyone in need no matter the situation. Everywhere she went she would tell someone about God and how good He is. She would feed the homeless and help in the community. She could make her presence known without saying a word. She was full of love, life and laughter and she will be greatly missed.

Four siblings preceded her in death, Karla Harris, Suzanne Harris, Willie Lewis and Colie Britton; Maternal grandmother Ollie Tyler; Paternal grandparents Andrew and Addie Harris.

She leaves to cherish her memories: husband Michael Brewton of Ocala; three daughters, Mary Jones, Jazzmin Owens (Anthony) both of Ocala and Shantasia Pack of Tallahassee; mother Mary Britton of Ocala; eleven sisters, Carol Jordan (Earl), Bertha Brown, Josie Britton (Bobby), Patricia Chatman (Abraham), Sharon Mills, Daphny Harris Young all of Ocala, Margaret Lathan of Orlando, Loretta Golden (Johnny) of Gainesville, Claretha Harris of Miami, Angela Harris and Martha Flowers; six brothers, John Britton, Melvin Lewis (Sonia), Walter Flowers (Wendy), Terry  Flowers, Reverend Johnny Flowers (Teresa) all of Ocala and Andrew Harris of Georgia; five grandchildren, RaeQwon Clark, Jhaveon Garmon, Khamari Eastman, Landon Davis and A’Nylah Coney; five godchildren, Tiffany Hamilton, Ilonya Flowers, Khalil Neal, Joselique Oatis and Kaedyn Kinsler; Special friends, Toronda, Rhonda, Lucy, Latasha, Latisha and Fred; a host of aunts uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and sorrowing friends.
