Willie James Blair was born August 24th, 1945, at the University Hospital in Augusta Georgia to the late James Monroe Blair and Mary Armstrong. He was educated in the Richmond County school system and Lucy Craft Laney High School. After graduation he attended Job Corps in Texas where he studied construction /brick masonry. After Job Corp he returned to Georgia and worked as a golf caddie at the Augusta National Masters Tournament. He moved to New York City and worked in the Garment district. Willie was also known as Hollywood in his youth, he loved music, all sports, having a good time and playing football. He enjoyed watching the news and could hold his own in a spirited political discussion.
