“Oh the Blood still covers me, flowing down from Calvary
Mercy stronger than my sins, grace that keeps me free within
Through the trials, through the years, through the pain and
through the tears. There’s a truth that sets me free
The Blood Still covers me”.
William Madison Stewart was born on December 14, 1955 to Alphonso Stewart and Jessie Mae Brown in Miami, Florida.
He received his formal education in the Miami-Dade public schools, graduating from Miami Senior High School.
He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and was united with the Church of God in Christ in Leesburg, Florida. In 1997 he united with the Church of God by Faith.
On July 5, 1997, William was united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Marva Drucilla Hawkins in Belleview, Florida and became father to Keaston Hooks.
William was employed as a cook with Epicure Restaurant in Miami from 1974 to 2013. He loved cooking, smoking turkeys and photography. He enjoyed sharing food and photos with family and friends. He was a light in every room he entered, known for his kindness, gentle spirit, and the warmth that radiated through his smile. His presence brought joy, laughter, and a sense of peace to those fortunate enough to share in his journey.
On November 20th William answered the Master’s call and entered eternal rest. He joins those that had gone on before him; his father, Alphonso Stewart and his mother, Jessie Mae Brown.
“A gentle soul, so full of grace, A smile that time cannot erase.
Though you are gone, your love remains, forever etched in hearts
and names. We’ll cherish memories, pure and true,
Until the day we meet with you.”
