It was Susie's desire to do something good every day to help the fallen by the way, to bring back those whose gone astray; to bring some wanderer to the fold, to shelter someone from the cold, to do God’s will as she was told, to be like the lord; It was her desire to teach some sinner how to pray, to help some traveler on the way, to lift up Jesus every day, to see His face when life is done, to meet the Father and the Son, to Hear Him say …….. My Child Well Done!
Throughout her walk she has touched the lives of many with her compassion and goodwill. On Monday, December 16th Susie answered the Master’s call, she took the hand of death and followed her last breath to the other side, to go beyond the realm of time, away from the light of day, away from the living world; beyond the tears, beyond the pain and suffering to the ecstasy of perfect peace, where her spirit soars above the earth defying gravity, lighter than air.
Susie loved her family and was a good cook, she inherited her cooking skills from her Mother and her mother’s sister, Aunt Martha. The holidays have not been the same without her b-b-q pig feet, baked turkey necks, cheesecakes, fruit cakes, greens, meatloaf, sweet potato pies, potato salad, pound cakes and pilau rice just to name a few.
She loved to shop and spend the whole day spending time & shopping with her grandchildren. Some of her favorite stores were Belk-Lindsey, Macy’s, JC Penny and thrift stores. She was a bargain shopper and took advantage of the sales, stopping only go to Burger King for that Whopper sandwich she loved so well and then back to shopping.
Susie was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Mary Graham; her two brothers, Thomas H. and Arthur Graham; a daughter, Sherri Kay Fulton-Dozier and her husband, Reverend Thomas A. Fulton.
