Roevanzeese Lewis Obituary

Roevanzeese Elizabeth Lewis “Van” was born on February 9, 1971, to V. Candace Lewis and Jimmie C. Robinson, Sr. in Milford, Connecticut.

She received her formal education through the Marion County School System, graduating from North Marion High School Class of 1990. Upon graduation, Roevanzeese “Van” began working from the food industry to the medical industry. She worked as a Med-Tech for an Assistant Living facility until she became too ill to work any longer.

She received numerous awards and certificates in the food and assisted living industries.

Her love for food and people, lead her to pick up and deliver food and clothing to the needy without pay. She even housed the homeless from time to time.

Roevanzeese departed this life on January 5, 2023. She was preceded in death by her grandparents:  Bessie M. Lewis and James Lewis, Sr., Mary Oliver and Oscar Robinson; her father Jimmie C Robinson; aunt Ethel Mae Miller-Engram and uncle Leroy Engram.

Roevanzeese leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Christopher Johnson; mother Dr. V. Candace Lewis-Shashikarshe (Joe); brothers: Jimmie Robinson, Jr. and Oscar Robinson (Shantel); sister: Cassandra Lewis; aunts: Dorothy Smith (Clarence), Priscilla Swinton, Ida Taylor, Pastor Claudette Stevenson, Deloris Vickers (Bobby), Pearl Hutchinson, Cathy Jones (Collis), Karita Robinson (Charles); uncles: James Lewis Jr. (Alma), Lorenzo Lewis (Annette); Reuben Lewis, Eugene Lewis, Sr. (Melanie), Ray Lewis, and Otis Oliver (Sharon); godchildren: Elise and Marquinn Jusino; special aunt: Lucille Munroe, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, acquaintances, friends, and extended families.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, Fl 34475.

Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 11:00am at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church 2240 NE 86th Lane, Anthony, FL 32617.
