Robert Johnson was born on March 4, 1933, to Ernest K. Johnson, Sr. and Elizabeth Carter in Ocala, Florida.
He received his formal education in the Marion County Public School System. He was a graduate of Howard High School. He accepted Christ as Saviour at an early age.
Robert enlisted into the United States Navy where he performed many tasks, earned several accommodations and awards. He retired on December 29, 1972, as a “BTC” Boiler Technician Chief at Great Lakes Navy Base in Great Lakes Michigan.
If you did not find Robert on the lake fishing, you would find him in his garden or with family. He was a generous philanthropist to many charities, and a member of the “PBA” Professional Bowler Association of Waukegan, IL.
Robert “Bob” Johnson went home to be with the father on October 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by both his parents Ernest K. Johnson and Elizabeth Carter; a brother, ‘EK” Ernest K. Johnson; a son, Reginald J. Wright.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories four children, Leslie Beavers, Robin Johnson, Terry Wright and Arsania Wright-Holmes; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala 34475.
Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:00am at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 55 SW 3rd Ave, Ocala, Fl 34480.
