Reverend Alvin D. Newmones was born on April 8, 1935 in the city of Caryville, Florida to the late Zebedee and Edna Newmones.
He obtained his education in Florida, graduating from Howard High School.
He was a dedicated member of Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Ocala, Florida, Inc.
Reverend Newmones was employed over the years in the Ocala area and later became a full time pastor leading local congregations including Siloam Missionary Baptist Church and Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Reverend Newmones was preceded in death by his loving and dedicated wife, Norlene Lenox Newmones ,brothers: Jack, Jake, and Zebedee Newmones, Jr. and sister, Bessie Lee Newmones.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Children: Leslie Johnson (Rickie Sr.), Stacey Newmones (Geraldine) Marvin Newmones Sr. (Stacie), Alvon Smith, and Edna Mae Newmones; His siblings; Pauline Newmones, Mary Sue Daire, and Acey Newmones. Reverend Newmones sincerely loved and cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sincerely missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, Fl 34475.
Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00AM at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church, 612 NW 4th Place. Ocala, Florida, 34475.
