Mr. Oland Williams, affectionately known in the community as “Daddy-Yo", age 77, transitioned peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father on December 28, 2025, at the University of Florida Shands Hospital.
Mr. Williams was a graduate of Howard High School, Class of 1968. He proudly served in the United States Armed Forces as a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1977, where he was honorably discharged.
Oland retired from Marion County Public Schools after 17 years of dedicated service as a school bus driver, and from the City of Ocala after 10 years of service as a Senior Sign Technician. Deacon Williams was a faithful member of New Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his children: Tarvis Williams and Corey Williams, both of Ocala, Florida; LCDR (Ret.) Michael S. Williams of Fort Worth, Texas; and Darrin R. Williams of Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Gwendolyn D. Harrell-Williams.
Wake Service will held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at New St. Mary Baptist Church, 4491 NW 27th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34475.
Public Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm on Friday, January 09, 2026, at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL 34475.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 515 NW 6th Terrace, Ocala, FL 34475.
