Norma Wallace Obituary

Norma Jean Wallace was born on November 25, 1940, to Mack Wallace, Sr. and Annie Belle Myrick-Wallace in Leesburg, Florida. She received her formal education In the Public-Schools of Lake and Marion Counties, graduating from Howard High School in Ocala. She furthered her education at Hampton Junior College in Ocala.

Born of the Christian Faith, and from an early age was a faithful and long-standing member of Covenant Baptist Church where she was baptized  under Rev. O. Van Pinkston. Norma worked throughout the church as a Hub for all while also holding several key positions: Member of the Usher Board, Coordinator of the Usher Ministries, Secretary and Bookkeeper of the church.

She was employed by the Marion County School Board for 44 years at various schools, retiring from Howard Middle School, in 2014.

Norma was a very inspiring person to her family. She  remained   loving and  caring for all her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews. In some cases, she helped to take care of them in her ways of showing love for family, which she did faithfully until her health would not allow her to. She loved being with family and friends because they brought joy and companionship.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents Mack and Annie Belle Wallace; 3 brothers, Nathaniel, Walter and Ray; 4 sisters,  Rosa B., Dorothy, Lucille and Mae Reatha.

Having faithfully completed her earthly assignment on Monday, February 16, 2026, Norma answered the divine summons of her Lord and went home. While our hearts gently grieve her physical departure, our spirits rejoice in the blessed assurance that she now rests in the glorious presence of the

Almighty. Her love, a beacon of light, endures beyond the veil of mortality and her spirit lives on, radiant and free having exchanged her earthly tent for a magnificent heavenly dwelling.

Those left to cherish her memories: 3 brothers, Mack Wallace (Betty) of Ocala, Carl Wallace (Carolyn) of Orlando and Fred Wallace of Baltimore, MD; brother in love, Moses J. Newson of Baltimore; goddaughter, Tiffany Hudson;  her supportive nieces and nephews, Angela, Diane, Wendell and Myron; Norma will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended families, friends and The New Covenant M. B. Church family.
