Obituary
Johnson, Namon Davis was born on October 22, 1939 to Mr. & Mrs. Namon & Victoria Johnson, Sr. in Ocala, Florida.
Namon received his formal education in the Public Schools of Marion County, graduating from Howard High School, Class of 1957 and attended Morris Brown College.
He accepted Christ as Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Where he was a faithful Sunday School Scholar and served with the Ministry of Helps.
Namon was employed as a relief pitcher in the Minor League with the Cincinnati Reds for four seasons 1959-1962. After his time with the Cincinnati Reds he was employed as a construction worker and later becoming self employed as an Independent Truck Driver and a Cattleman.
Namon loved Sunday School, fishing, raising cattle and talking about sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Namon, Sr. and Victoria Johnson and one sister Alpha Doll (Bobbie) Johnson.
Namon was a loving and honored father that is survived by seven children that will cherish his memories: Curtis (Priscilla) Mitchell of South Carolina, Cedric Condry of Ft. Worth, Texas, Namon Darryl Johnson of Ocala, Victor Andre Johnson of Ocala, Michael Jerod Johnson of Fernandina Beach, Todd Lamont (Luvenia) Johnson of Ocala and LaTonja Ravet’ (Belton) Hagins of Ocala; four sister, Vernell J. Tyler, Evone Johnson, Elvira L. Surmons and Norma Anderson; four grand children, Jemarall Richards, Everette Way, Deion Laird and Tatianna Johnson; two great grand children; two uncles; two aunts; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Namon D. Johnson Jr., will be on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00AM at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church 5000 SW College Road, Ocala, Florida 34474.
