Melissa Massey Smothers was born on October 3, 1960 to Ruth Smith and Franklin Massey in Cario, Georgia.

Melissa received her formal education at Cario High School in Cario, Georgia.

Melissa accepted Christ as her Savior as a child and was united with Church of Christ. In her leisure she enjoyed music, dancing, and spending time with her family.

Melissa leaves to cherish her memories her four children: Henry Smothers, Albert Smothers, Ronnie Holt Jr, and Latoya Starker; her mother Ruth Casey (Ralph); grandchildren Keontray, Hayleal, Laura, AJ, Tykeem, and Zykeria.

Public viewing on Friday September 4, 2020 from 1:00pm until 6:00pm at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th St, Ocala, Fl. 34475

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Melissa Smothers  will be on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00 am at Finley (Graveside) Cemetery

Interment will follow in Finley Cemetery
