Mary Louise Richard, daughter of the late A.W. Robinson and Mary Brown, was born on April 1, 1936, in Branford, FL. She received her early education in the Suwannee County Public School System. Mary worked as a cook at Ward Highlands Elementary before dedicating herself to being a homemaker.
For over 50 years, Mary professed her faith in Jesus Christ, serving faithfully as the mother of the church at New House of Praise. Her deep devotion and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She was married to Nelson Richard, who preceded her in death on April 26, 1991.
Mary’s faith and love bloomed as beautifully as the flowers she adored. Her influence will forever be remembered by her family and friends. On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, she quietly departed this life at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband Nelson Richard; daughters, Alfreda Richard and Delina “Diane” Alford; her son, Dave Stafford (survived by daughter-in-law Willie B.); her brothers, Nathaniel Robinson, Joe McCray, and Raymond Robinson; her sister, Thelma Reed.
Mary’s beautiful life will be cherished by her daughters, Irene Mulkey (Lenard) of Ocala, FL; Selina Green of Mulberry, FL; and Sirena Mitchell of Ocala, FL. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mary’s love, faith, and legacy will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
