Mary L. Coney

Coney, Mary Lou, born September 20, 1932 to the late Sim Kemp Sr. and Verdie Peterkin Waldon  in Winfield, Florida.

Mary was united in Holy Matrimony to Nathaniel  Coney for 54 years in Leesburg, FL they were blessed with 3 children.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at  an early age and offered a helping to many in her community and the church.

Mary worked for the Marion County School Board   as a Head Custodian for over 30 years. She enjoyed cooking, planting flowers, and listening to gospel  music and visiting family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one    brother: Sim Kemp Jr.; one sister: Gloria Jean Kemp; uncle: Willie Lee Peterkin; one aunt Mamie Lou    Rachel; nephew Curtis Kemp, and stepson: Tyrone Coney.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband:  Nathaniel Coney; children: Tesa Hunter (Tommy),  and Tyesha Gant, all of Macon GA; two brothers: Willie B. Kemp (Elizabeth) of Orlando, Charlie B. Kemp (Lois) of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Jeffery Coney and Joseph Hunter, Jr. both of  Weirsdale and Eboni Hunter of Macon, GA; special uncle: Curtis Peterkin of Mt. Claire, FL; special   nieces Alicia Nunn (Burdette) of Leesburg, and Sharon Mitchell of Jacksonville; special nephews: Robert Brown. III, Brian Brown both of Leesburg, and Todderick Vernon of Arizona; special cousin: Blanche Tisdale of Leesburg; great-great niece: Sequita Kemp of Jacksonville, a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be Friday, May 31, 2019 at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th St, Ocala, Florida from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.

Funeral Services for Mrs Mary L. Coney will be on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00AM at Christian Worship Center, 929 County Road 468, Leesburg, FL. 34748  

Final Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Garden.
