Mae Francis Baker was born on February 6, 1934, to the union of Monroe Thompson and Annie Williams Thompson in Reddick, Fl.
She received her formal education through the Marion County Public School System.
Mae Francis accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Debose Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as a choir member in the Senior Choir and a member of the kitchen committee.
She was united in holy matrimony to Cornelius Baker on August 23, 1949, in Reddick, Florida and to their union they were blessed with four children.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Mae Francis enjoyed gardening, fairs, cruising, family functions, and spending time with her family.
Mae Francis Baker departed this life on September 11, 2025. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the love we share, and the strength we carry forward in her name.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents Monroe and Annie Thompson, her husband Cornelius “Bo” Baker; daughters: Vivian Baker Irving and Sheila Baker Calihan; grandson Everett “Gerald” Suggs; brothers; Sam Thompson, Randolph Thompson, Charles Thompson; Sisters: Irene Thompson Galloway and Ruby Thompson Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children Reginald Baker and Regina Baker; four grandchildren: Carla Pryor, Andrea Dawson, Ebony Rivers, and Carvel Taylor; nine great grandchildren: Mikel Suggs (Shane’), Delvaugh Dawson, Kenisha Hargrove, Kenny Hargrove Jr., Keon Hargrove, Eze King, Kristopher Milligan Jr, Carlee Taylor and Carenza Taylor; one great-great grandchild: Jasmin; one sister: Viola Bradshaw (Elisha); one great uncle: Abraham Johnson; two sisters-in-law: Betty Baker and Roger Dean Griffin (Ezekiel); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public Viewing will be on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th St, Ocala, Fl 34475.
Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Mae Francis Baker will be on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00am, at Reddick Church of God,15670 NW Gainesville Rd, Reddick, FL 32686
