Libbie K. Frederick was born on April 10, 1930 to the late Lilious & Clara Kenan in Kenansville, NC. She was the second of three children.
She received her education in the Duplin County Public School System and went on to attend DeShazar Beauty School in Durham, NC where she received her Cosmetology License. Not wanting to rest on her laurels as a Cosmetologist, Libbie went on to become a Travel Agent where her clientele looked forward to her annual vacation packages.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Emmett Irie Frederick, Sisters Emma K. Farrior and Agnes L. Carlton.
She accepted Christ at a very early age and joined St. James A.M.E. Church where she faithfully served as a Steward, a Trustee, Founded Frederick’s Gospel Choir, and served in other areas where needed. And although her later years were spent living in Florida with her daughter, she refused to move her membership away from St. James A.M.E. Church Kenansville. Knowing the importance of church fellowship, she did attend St. Paul A.M.E. Church with her daughter.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Emmie F. Pearson of Ocala, FL; two grandsons, Tremayne (Tina) Pearson of Ocala, FL, and Mark Pearson of Wildwood, FL; great granddaughter, Taelyn Pearson; nieces, Emily, Briana, & Emiya Marshall; nephew, James Marshall; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
