Leroy Hopkins Jr. was born on February 8, 1952, to Leroy and Rogenia Hopkins in Kendrick, FL. Leroy received his formal education at Fessenden High School in Kendrick, FL.
Leroy accepted Christ as his savior at Mt. Tabor AME Church at an early age. He united in holy matrimony with Margaret Ann Atkins on January 2, 1980. To this union they were blessed with two children.
Leroy worked on the packing line at Certified Grocery for many years. He also worked at May Flower, and he worked as a farmer’s helper along with his father. Leroy enjoyed special moments with his children, grandchildren, and his wife Margaret “Pumkin” Hopkins, his dream world. He loved his family.
Leroy Hopkins Jr. departed this life on August 29, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Rogenia Hopkins.
Leroy leaves to cherish his special memories His loving wife of 41 years: Margaret Ann Hopkins. Children: Patrick Kirby Hopkins & Patrice Fuller (Eddie). Grandchildren: Samaria Hopkins, Major Fuller & McKenzie Fuller. Brothers: Cleveland Hopkins (Iris), Tony Hopkins (Donna), Michael Hopkins. Sisters: Cheryl Kendrick (Terry), Connie Nobles (Anthony). Special Uncle & Aunt, Moton Hopkins (Algene), Aunt Mary Hopkins, Devoted nephew Joseph Crowell Jr., Devoted Sister-in-Law Pastor Gloria J. Smith (Craig), Diane Lewis (John), Clara J. Duncan. Devoted niece Sylvia Pender, Special cousin Eddie Lee Casey, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public viewing for Mr. Leroy Hopkins will be Friday, September 10, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street. Ocala, FL. 34475
Celebration of Life (Graveside) services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Finley Cemetery, Ocala, FL 34475
Interment will follow in Finley Cemetery .
