Lawrence Willington Williams Jr was born on August 14, 1932, to the late Lawrence Sr and Laura Marshall Williams in Bronson, FL. He was the sixth of thirteen children He was educated in the Levy County school system and later relocated to Ocala, FL with his parents and siblings. As a young man he learned the trade of laying tile and marble and later started his own business installing tile and marble floors, bathroom, kitchens and window seals across Central Florida until his retirement. Lawrence enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and WWE wrestling.
Lawrence accepted the Lord and joined the Eighth Street Church of God in 1987 under the leadership of the Late Bishop Harvey E. Robinson where he remained a faithful member until his death. He served in various roles at the church from Trustee, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Men’s Fellowship President. Lawrence enjoys.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife the late Annie Williams, son; Terry Williams, a daughter; Brenda Caple, grandson; Gregory Williams, goddaughter; Patrica Danielly; four brothers, John D. Williams, Lewis C. Williams, Robert Williams, and Robin Williams; and five sisters; Lucille Arther, Florence Ray, Roberta McCoy, and Corine and Laura Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Reginald Williams, David Sears, and Mark Sears all of Ocala, FL, Lawrence Williams III of Gainesville, FL; three daughters Michelle Davis (Emory) of Interlachen, FL, Charranda Williams and Lakair Williams of Ocala, FL; son-in-law Augustus Caple, brother David Williams, two sisters, Elizabeth Robinson and Katie Cannon of Ocala, FL, two brother in laws Benjamin Monts Jr of Belleview, FL and Kelvin Marshall of Raleigh, NC; sisters-in-law, Cora Williams, Hattie Williams, Helen Frazier of Ocala, FL, Gloria Vance, Denise Cadette, Loretta Ramsey of Belleview, FL and a host of grandchild, great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Public Viewing will be on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 1:00 until 6:00pm at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th St. Ocala, Florida 34475.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Eighth Street Church of God, 605 NW 8th St. Ocala, Florida 34475.
