Lavern was born on October 3, 1939, to the late Ralph and Sara Washington-Garmon in Chula, Georgia.
Von received her education at Tifton Industrial School and dedicated over 30 years of service as a Domestic Engineer, working with Hobeau Farm, Quail Roost Farm, and Elmer & Harriet Heubeck. Her work ethic and devotion to her craft were unmatched, and her presence was cherished by all who worked with her.
Lavern "Von" Williams lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication. Raised in Tifton, Georgia, Von later settled in Ocala, Florida, where she built a warm and welcoming home for family and friends. She was a beloved aunt, cousin, and friend, whose compassion touched everyone she met.
Her passing on November 11, 2024, leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eddie Williams, her son Danny Kitchen, her sisters Louise Orr and Annie Garmon, and her brothers Ralph Garmon Jr., Bobby Garmon, David Garmon, Ronald Garmon, and Donald Garmon.
Von leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Among them, her special friend Ms. Arquilla Richardson holds a significant place.
Von will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the love she shared will remain with us always.
