Julius Tyrone Hodges was born on July 7, 1948, to Connie J. Hodges, Jr. and Odessa Stevens in Manhattan, New York.
He received his formal education in the Nassau County School system, graduating from Westbury High School in Westbury, New York. He furthered his education at Rochester Institute of Technology, in New York.
Julius accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was united with Gospel Temple Church in Church of God in Christ.
On August 23, 1971, Julius was united in Holy matrimony to Bethine Young in Valdosta, Georgia and their union was blessed with one child.
Julius was employed by Krystal’s Restaurant as a Manager for several years until retirement. In his leisure time he enjoyed traveling, music and cooking.
The clock of life exchanged time for eternity, for Julius Tyrone Hodges. He was greeted in the early hours on June 14, 2024, by the wings of Angels. Brother Hodges, heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto Me and rest; lay down, thou weary one, lay down thy head upon My breast.” His soul took flight and left this old world. To God be the Glory.
In addition to his parents, Connie J. Hodges, Jr. and Odessa Stevens; he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Hodges and his sister, Maxine Harrison.
When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside. Death of death, and hell's Destruction, land me safe on Canaan's side. Songs of praises, songs of praises I will ever sing to you.
He is survived by two sons, Tyrone J. Hodges and Julius R. Hodges; three daughters, Felisa McGee, Latrella Flucas-Smith and Tara L. Smith; brothers: Connie Hodes III of Jacksonville, Fl., Willie Hodges of Westbury, New York, and twin brother Anthony Hodges of Westbury, New York; five grandchildren, Ashley Flucas, Alvis T. Smith, Felise Albritton, Isaiah Cunningham and Jaya Cunningham; one great grand, Alvis A. Smith.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL 34475.
Services for Mr. Julius T. Hodges will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 3:00 pm, at New St. Mary Baptist Church, 4491 NW 27th Avenue, Ocala, Fl 34475.
