Joseph T. Gordon, Sr

Joseph Thomas Gordon was born in Orange Lake, Florida on May 17, 1950 to Thomas Gordon, Sr and Eva Presley- Simmons.

He was educated in the Public Schools of Marion County.

Joseph accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was united with Mt. Zion United Methodist Church as a lay member.

On December 18 of 1992 he was united in Holy matrimony with Sheryl Johnson.

He retired ten year ago as a diesel mechanic. His hobbies were fishing and auto mechanic work.

Joseph was preceded in death by both his parents, Thomas Gordon, Sr.  and Eva Simmons; three brothers, Wardell Gordon  Sr., Levi Gordon Sr., and Thomas Gordon, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Sheryl Gordon, two sons: Joseph (Thelronda) Gordon Jr.,  Michael (Veronica)  Jacobs; six stepdaughters: Valeria, Velma, LaShawn, Princess, Kimberly and Shamira; six sisters: Ella Gordon, Juanita Williams, Annie Sweet, Surwena (Tommy) Myers,  Katrina (Alphonso)  Lamar and  Luctricia Dove; two brothers: David (Marilyn) Gordon, Sr. and George (Charlene) Simmons; eleven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Public viewing for Mr. Joseph T. Gordon, Sr will be Friday, July 23, 2021 from 1:00 PM til 6:00 PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, Florida 34475.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Reddick Church of God, 15670 NW Gainesville Rd. Reddick, FL 32686

Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery .
