Obituary of Joanne Gallmon McNeal

Ocala – Joanne Gallmon McNeal age 74 passed away August 31, 2018. Born in Winter Garden, FL. on October 18, 1943 to William Gallmon, Sr. and Josephine James Gallmon. She moved to Schenectady, NY at the age of 7 and she returned to Ocala in 2008.

She was employed by the New York Education Department for 35 years and retired in 1998. She was a member of the Prince Hall Masonic family for many years. She is a Past Matron of Adah Chapter No.60 OES, Past Illustrious Commandress of Al Tabari Court No.28, Daughter of ISIS, Organizer and First Royal Commandress of Galilee Royal Court No.14 Order of Cyrene.

In addition to her parents, her brothers William Gallmon Jr. and John E. Gallmon predeceased her.

Survivors included daughters Michele L. McNeal, Renee S. McNeal, Joanne M. McIntosh of Schenectady and Jamine M. McNeal of Atlanta, GA. Sons Richard M. McNeal of Oakland, CA and Zachary T. McNeal of Ballston Lake, N.Y. 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held for family and friends at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th St., Ocala, Fl. 34475, On Saturday, September 8, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon. Another memorial service will be held at Light Funeral Home, 1428 State St, Schenectady, N.Y. in the coming weeks
