On April 08th, 1965 the world was blessed with an extraordinary man. James Tillman Williams Jr., known to many as Ricky, born to the late James Tillman Williams Sr. aka “Tillie” and the late Elouise Irons. Raised in Ocala, Florida, he graduated from Vanguard High School in 1984. He continued his education at Central Florida Community College.
He worked in construction, manufacturing, healthcare, and food services as a cook.
James accepted the Lord as his savior and was an active member of Higher Grounds Harvest Center under the leadership of Apostle Brandon Cave and First Lady Evangelist Carla Cave. He served as an usher and a member of the security team.
He enjoyed playing football, video games, spending time with his family, and taking his grandmother to church during her lifetime. Ricky was a passionate perfectionist who enjoyed spending time with his children, helping them with their homework, and teaching them life skills. He was a very good man that loved helping many others in any way possible. Some use to say he was a “Big Teddy Bear,” because he had such a compassionate and loving heart.
On August 16th, 2020, Ricky answered the Lord’s call. He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his beautiful wife, Stephanie Gammage Williams, Ocala, FL., two lovely daughters, Jorday Williams, Orlando, FL and Danielle Williams, Ocala, FL. and two sons, James Williams III and Stephon Gammage both of Ocala, FL. His siblings; the late Eboni L. Williams, Ocala, FL, Tammy Washington, Sarasota, FL, and Edward Hardgrove, Ocala, FL., one niece, the late Danielle E. Green, Ocala, FL, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and sorrowing friends. Bro. Ricky Williams lived a beautiful life. May he continue to live on through us.
