George Suggs, III was born on January 1, 1950, in Ocala, Florida to the late George Suggs, II and Juanita Small Suggs.
George received his formal education in the public schools of Marion County. Studied at Fessenden-Bowdon High School and went on to further his education at Central Florida Junior College. He was a former recruit at US Navy Great Lakes, graduating to Norfolk, VA.
He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Reddick where he served on the Usher board. He later rededicated his life to Christ in 2018.
George, an honorary Navy Veteran, was employed by Rinker Cement Company as a professional truck driver. He was a former employee of Silver Springs State Park, Lowell Prison for Men and later with Lowell Litter Company in Marion County, Florida.
He loved drawing, playing instruments, riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.
On December 27, 2022, George answered the Master's call and went home to be with the Father and loved ones gone on before him. He was preceded in death by both his parents, and his son, Everett Fitzgerald Suggs.
George is survived by three children, Carla Pryor, Andrea Dawson (James) and George P. Suggs, IV; one daughter in law, Ada Mae Suggs; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Grant, Alvin Terry, Mikel A Suggs (Shane), Delvaughn Dawson, Kenisha Hargrove, Kenny Hargrove, Jr., Keon Hargrove, Ketraun J. Suggs, Lyrik A. Suggs; one great grand, Jasmine Anderson; one loving and devoted brother, Joseph “Bubba” Suggs (Joyce); loving and devoted cousin, Deborah “ Cookie” Martin; special cousins, Reverend Anna Fay Thomas, Lawana Chandler McCombs, Bonnie F. Long, Helen Chandler Hill, Sharon Hayes and Marilyn Vernon; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, Fl 34475.
Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00am at Mt. Pedro Baptist Church 20520 CR 329, Micanopy, Florida 32667
