A TIME TO BE BORN: Ms. Geneva “Gingerbread” Pete Thomas was born on April 2, 1942, to the late James Lewis Pete and Alberta Williams Pete in Brooker, Florida. She was the second oldest child of 15 children six girls and nine boys, seven proceeded her death Lelia, Glenda, Ray, Daniel, Patrick, Fredrick, Edward.
A TIME TO LIVE AND SERVE: Ms. Geneva was a graduate of Fessenden High School Class of 1960. Following graduation, she was employed with the Marion County School Board for 30 years. Ms. Geneva was a precious jewel to the community of Reddick, FL. She was a faithful supportive member of Faith Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She also supported various other churches in Marion County.
A TIME TO LOVE AND GIVE: Ms. Geneva was united in Holy matrimony to her late husband of 20 yrs. Alphonso Thomas Sr. From that union seven children were born. Preceded in death Tony A. Thomas, Sr., and two grandson’s Roderick Washington Jr. and Jazzmon D. Callaway; She leaves to cherish six children Debra Thomas, Alphonso (Eliza) Thomas, Herman (Lisa) Thomas, Willard (Shari) Thomas, Rodney (Angel) Thomas, Latoya (Albert) Thomas-Callaway and bonus son Wayne (Rebecca) Pete; godchildren: Jesse (Karyl) Modican, Marvin Coney and Raymond (Shay) Weathers; sisters: Georgia Cassidy, Linda Pete, Wanda Edwards, Charlotte Lawrence; brothers: Willie (Mildred) Pete, Pastor Charles (Dorothy) Pete, Earnest Pete, Samuel Pete; sisters-n-law/brothers-n-law: Ruthia Lewis, Edgar (Arlene) Thomas, Henry (Darion) Tyler, Bernard (Sherryl) Tyler, Doris Gaines, Vivian Thomas, Maynoise (Ray) McCullough, E Clinton Thomas Sr.; Aunts: Mildred Boynton and Margaret Grant; thirty-one grand-children, forty-nine great grand-children, one great great-grand, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wake Service will be held on Friday January 5, 2024, at 5:00 until 7:00PM at Faith Fellowship MB Church, 6900 N. Highway 441, Ocala, FL 34475.
Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Geneva Pete Thomas, will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at The Benevolent Church of God, 15490 NW 155th Street, Reddick, FL 32686.
