Essie Mae Weems, better known as “Tina”, was born on November 17, 1952, to Irene Kendrick and Edward Weems, in Ocala, FL.
She attended Marion County schools and has worked in various positions from home maintenance to fast food services, but her passion was painting and DIY home projects.
On Saturday, December 30, 2023, the angels came to carry Tina to her eternal home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; and her sisters: Carrie Weems, Lydia Weems, and Marilyn Hope.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her are her five children: Tawanda Coleman, Tyrone(Faith) Coleman, Kenneth(Lacrete) Coleman, Johnnie(LaToya) Coleman, Kayler(Lemuel) Mcgill Walker; eighteen grandchildren: Sasha Coleman, Fantasia Fleming, Kyndal Walker, Maria Coleman, Journey Coleman, Jerell Mack, Kaniya Coleman, Kenisha Coleman, Kenneth Coleman Jr, Kenmari Coleman, Johntavis Coleman, Karjuan Buie , Demetris Coleman, Shania Coleman, Jackie Wynn, Jakeria Johnson, Tario Luke, Makiya Chappell, and Tylon Gore; her siblings: Maedell Weems, Christine Weems, Gloria Weems, Sorena Kendrick, Irene Harley, Darian Kendrick, Tony Kendrick, and Edwina Weems; two special friends: Virginia Coleman and Angela Carson; bonus sons: Marvin Coleman, Keith Bracey, and Michael Randall; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public Viewing will be on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 1:00 until 6:00pm at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th St. Ocala, Florida 34475.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 13, at 11:00 AM at MT. Zion AME Church, 623 South Magnolia Avenue, Ocala, FL 34471.
