Ernestine Nealous

Ernestine Nealous-Hamilton was born on November 28, 1951, in Clarks Hill, South Carolina to Theodore Roosevelt Nealous, Sr. and Bessie Mae Nealous. 

Ernestine was a graduate of Hempstead High School, Class of 1969 in New York. Her employment career included the Metropolitan Transit Authority of New York City, Marion County School System Cafeteria and Marion Community Hospital Dietary Department. She was baptized at an early age at Spring Grove Missionary Baptist Church in South Carolina. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds, cooking, and baking peach cobbler. Her passion was spending time with family and she loved kids. 

Ernestine Nealous-Hamilton transitioned from this life on January 19, 2026 in Summerfield, Florida. She is predeceased by her father, Theodore Roosevelt Nealous, Sr., mother, Bessie Mae Nealous, sister, Teresa Nealous, niece, Aaliyah Jones, grandparents, aunts and uncles. She leaves to cherish her memories… 

Her spouse of 25+ years of togetherness with 18 years of marriage: Oscar Hamilton

Her sons: Michael Sherer (Erica), Corey Sherer, Gregory Williams, Tyrone Hamilton-Bebbington (Christopher)

Brothers: Steve Jackson and Theodore Roosevelt Nealous, Jr.

Sisters: Brenda Jackson, Toni Nealous, Tina Nealous and Robin Nealous

Brothers-in-law: Earnest Neal, Emmanuel Hamilton, Eddie Hamilton, Nathaniel Hamilton, Kent Hamilton, and Kenneth Hamilton

Sisters-in-law: Serender LeCorn, Ocee Neal, Deloris Lynum, Maxine Hamilton, Sinteria Hamilton

Grandchildren: Mykel Sherer, Mehki Sherer, Gregory Williams, Victoria Williams, Nick Dreier Jr., and Izaiah Williams

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Public Viewing will be on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th St, Ocala, Fl 34475.

Celebration of Life Service for Ernestine Nealous will be on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00pm at, New Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 9225 SW 27th Ave., Ocala, FL 34491.
