Emary Joyce Scott

Emary Joyce Hampton Scott was born June 30, 1949, in Hawthorne, FL to the late Charles E. Hampton, Sr. and Mamie Ruth Hampton.

She received her education in the Putnam County Schools of Putnam County, graduating from Central Academy High Palatka, FL class of 1967.

Emary was united in Holy matrimony to the late Reverend Leonard Scott for 50 years.

She was employed with Marion County School Board for 35 years at Weirsdale Junior and Senior High Schools.

Emary was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Leonard Scott, parents, Charles E. Hampton, Sr. and Mamie Ruth Hampton; two brothers Thadious and Charles Hampton, Jr.; stepdaughter, Patricia Scott DeLeon.

She leaves to mourn her passing: Son: Sammy (Shyreen) Hancock of Temescal Valley, CA.; Sisters: Sharon (Jimmie) O’neal of Johnson, FL. and Ursula H. Goodrum of Pompano Beach, FL.; Brother: Lester Wayne (Denise) Smith of West Palm Beach, FL.; Aunt: Dorothy H. Green of Orange Springs, FL.; Stepsons: Patrick (Cassandra) Scott of Ocala, FL. and Vincent Scott of Johnson, FL.; Sister in Laws: Earlene Scott of Weirsdale, FL.  Ruthel (Eardley) Forbes of Weirsdale, FL. and Sandra Scott (Robert) Killett of Greensboro, NC.; Brother in Laws: Raymond (Mary) Scott of Wildwood, FL. and Samuel L. (Margie) Scott of El Paso, TX; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; Special Grandson: Anthony DeLeon; Goddaughters: Jacqueline (Earl) Forshee of Summerfield and  Anaysah Jenkins of Gainesville, FL.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, Fl 34475.

Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2:00pm at Stanton First Baptist Church, 15985 SE 140th Ave. Weirsdale, Florida, 32195
