Elder Edwin Brian Boyd, Sr.

Like a bird in the open sky, the soul takes flight, never to die. It soars above the earthly plane, in eternal freedom, it will remain. Grieve not for those who've taken flight, Their spirits shine forever bright. In every chirp and graceful glide, their presence lingers by our side.

Elder Edwin Brian Boyd, Sr. was April 24, 1971, in Ocala, Florida to Ms. Dorothy Boyd and Mr. John Monroe., Sr.

He was educated in the Marion County Public Schools he received his higher education: College of Central Florida: receiving an Associate of Science Degree.

Elder Boyd accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in his life at an early age and from there along with his Special Aunt (deceased) Mother Eula Mae Christopher Wilkerson they all joined the United Holiness Church of Christ Deliverance Center, INC. (UHCCDC) where he grew strong in the Lord and enjoyed learning to play the bass guitar, drums, Hammond organ and the keyboard. Later, he was ordained as an Elder and taught Bible Study, Sunday School and the Apostles’ reader, while traveling in the Tent Ministry Crusade.

Elder Boyd was united in holy matrimony with Missionary Annie Kelly Boyd on October 31, 1993, in Ocala. Their union was blessed with 8 children. He was employed by Salvation Army of Ocala as a Manager of the Probation Department, until his illness.

In his leisure, Elder Boyd enjoyed studying the word of God and teaching himself to learn new tunes, as well as Family Time.

Elder Edwin Brian Boyd Sr. departed this life on November 11, 2024, in the evening of Veteran’s Day, a true born Soldier in the Army of the Lord. “If I die let me die, in the Army of the Lord”. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Monroe Sr. and Dorothy Lee Christopher Boyd; brothers, James A. Boyd and Dwight Monroe; sisters, Cynthia Smith and Sharon Boyd Smith.

He leaves to cherish his lovely wife Missionary Annie Boyd of 31 years; eight children, Burney Bernard Bess, Edwin Brian Jr. (Crystal), Dorante Leon, Alecia Ann Jeanty-Rowland (Christopher), Abriana Kiara Boyd (Stephen), Anita Brianni Boyd, Ashley Mia Boyd, Aleya Sharise Boyd; 6 grandchildren, A’Miracle, Zemeni, Jolliana, Serenity, Jayden, Ksenia; 6 brothers, Dwight B. Christopher Jr. (Mary), Wayne L. Boyd, Richard K. Boyd, John Robert Monroe, Robert Earl Monroe, Tobias M. Monroe.2 sisters, Georgia Marie Cannon, Gloria Boyd Bethea (Ire); mother-n-law: Connie Kelly; 6 brother-n-laws: Joseph, Richard, Phillip, Rayford Christopher Kelly, Jr., and Ryan Roy; 4 sister-law, Shannon, Antionette, Lynette (Ryan), and Kelly; Special Spiritual Mother/aunt, Evangelist Delia Jenkins, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Public viewing for Elder Edwin Boyd will be Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL. 34475.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, 2:00 PM, at United Holiness Church of Christ Deliverance Center, 642 NW 3rd Street, Ocala, FL 34475.
