Eartha Hamilton Obituary

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Eartha Mae Hamilton was born on February 12, 1940, in Summerfield, Florida to John and Mamie Hamilton.

She attended the public schools of Marion County and was employed with the Marion County School Board Cafeteria and as a Licensed Cosmetologist.  Eartha also was employed with Steak-N-Shake, until her retirement.  She was a member of the Church of The Most High God Christian Church, where she served as the Mother of The Church.

Eartha loved fishing, cooking, baking cakes and pies and eating crabs.  Her memory will live on in the lives that she touched while on this earthly journey.

Eartha Mae Hamilton transitioned from this earthly life to her heavenly home on August 2, 2025, at her home in Summerfield, Florida.

She is predeceased by her parents, John and Mamie Hamilton, brothers, Isiah, Azell, George, Freddie, Robert, John L. James Hamilton, Sr. and Aaron Hamilton, sisters, Isa Mae Hamilton McGraw, Emma Lee Hamilton and Rutha Mae Hamilton, sisters-in-law, Helen Hamilton, Emma Jean Hamilton, Beatrice Hamilton, Esther Hamilton and Rachel Hamilton, brother-in-law, Robert LeCorn, Jr., uncles, David Daniels, James and Willie McGraw and Norman Hamilton, aunts, Jessie Lee Aaron, Ethel McGraw and Violet Jenkins, son, Robert Madison, Jr., daughter, Carlindean “Cat” Madison, daughters-in-law, Rachel Madison and Sharon Madison and grandson, Jermell Williams.

Precious memories will be treasured by…

Daughters: Shirlene Starker, Evelyn Madison and Jean Madison;

Brothers-in-law: Ed Lynum and Earnest Neal;

Sisters-in-law: Earnestine Hamilton, Sinteria Hamilton and Maxine Hamilton;

Grandchildren: Terry Mincy, Rashauna Mincy, Lawrence Mincy, Shawn Mincy, Gayla Mincy-Jackson, Joseph Mincy III, Daryl Starker, Michael Starker, LaShawn Starker, Robert Madison III, Marcus Madison, Elizabeth Trombetto, Xavier Madison, Marlena Blaylock, Leslie Booker, Tarlisa Mitchum, Alex Howard, Nicole Ponder, Willie Jones, Jamal Jones, Jabriel Hopkins, Kenny Madison Jr., Brittany Madison, Nathaniel Madison Jr., Tacara Madison, Desiree Madison, Michael Madison, Orlando Madison, Tenika Madison, Brandon Madison, Brendan Madison and LeKeshia Madison;

Public viewing will be Friday, August 15, 2025, from 1:00pm until 6:00pm at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL. 34475.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, 10:00am at New Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 9225 SW 27th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34476.
