Deacon Kenneth Taylor Obituary

Deacon Kenneth Regenal Taylor was born on June 10, 1956, to Robert and Julia Taylor, Sr. in Ocala, Florida.

Kenneth received his formal education in the Marion County School System in Citra, Florida, graduating from North Marion High School class of 1974. He furthered his education at College of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida.

Kenneth accepted Christ as Savior at an early age and was united with Progressive Union Baptist Church, later joining Greater New Bethel and becoming a deacon under the leadership of Rev. Dennis Hagins, Sr., than he joined Light of the World Church  under the leadership of Apostle George McCrae as a deacon, and later joining House of Prayer as a deacon under the leadership of Rev. McKinley Baker, Jr. where he continued his spiritual growth even in his failing health.

Kenneth enlisted into the United States Army on July 2, 1974 until July 1, 1980, he served in Germany. 

Kenneth was united in holy matrimony with Yolanda Poole on July 17, 2006, in Ocala, Florida. 

He was employed by Cummer Lime and Block Plant, Counts Construction Company, and later Castlerock Construction Company as a heavy machine operator for over forty years. In his leisure, he  enjoyed dancing, fishing, cooking, barbecuing, and spending time with family and friends.

Deacon Taylor never lost his faith and knew God did not bring him this far to leave him so on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the close of his life journey, he answered the Lord when he called his name. He was preceded in death by both parents Robert and Julia Taylor, Sr., five brothers: Ercell, Dwight, Clyde, Ronald, and Curtis; one daughter: Marvia Taylor-Brown, one grandson: Nigel Shanard Womack; mother-in-law Pauline Mosley, and sisters-in-law Shirley Cooper and Vanessa Taylor; one uncle Rev Frank Woods, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and caring wife of 18 years Yolanda Taylor; daughters; Rev. Regina Womack, Cassandra Posey (Gary), Kyra Williams, bonus daughters: Chiquita Wheeler, Ashley Wheeler, Chanel Martinez, and Jennae Martinez (Lamar); bonus sons: Byron Wheeler and Lakeith Wheeler; two sisters: Youndla Taylor and Lisa Taylor; two brothers: Robert Taylor, Jr.(Doris) and Joseph Suggs (Joyce); sisters and brothers in law: Gale Taylor, of Ocala, Mary Coleman, Willie Williams, Calvin Collier of Leesburg, Alicia Jones of Cambridge, OH., Walter Poole, and Kelvin Poole both of Ocala; 30 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,  nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday February 28, 2025, at 1:00pm until 6:00pm at Summers Funeral Home 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala 34475.

Celebration of Life services for Deacon Kenneth Taylor will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00am at The Benevolent Church of God, 15490 NW 155th Street, Reddick, FL 32686.
