In loving remembrance of Claudette Peyton, a beloved wife and mother, transitioned to Glory on August 10, 2023. Born May 19, 1956, to Annie Bell Preston and Riley Preston Sr. of Ocala, FL., she was a cherished friend, pillar of strength for her family and devoted child of God.
Claudette was a graduate of Forest Highschool's class of 1974. She briefly furthered her educational pursuits at Florida A&M University and later graduated with a Bachelor of Theology from United Theological Seminary and Bible College in May 2023.
Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. She retired after a 36 year tenure with The Department of Revenue and served as a long time, committed member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Tallahassee, FL.
During her years of retirement, she then returned home to Ocala, FL., where she met her husband Don Peyton and continued her Christian walk as Evangelist, Sunday School teacher and Church Secretary at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Riley Preston Sr., sister Paula Preston, brothers Riley Preston Jr., Walter Preston (Theresa), and twin brother, Claude Preston.
She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and countless memories.
Claudette is survived by her mother Anne Bell Preston of Ocala, FL., loving husband, Don Peyton of Ocala, FL. Daughter, Latarsha Bradwell of Jacksonville, FL.; Sisters Frenchie Hampton (Ronald) of West Palm Beach, FL. and Lydia Darns of Pensacola, FL.; Brothers Paul Preston (Daphne), Marese Preston (Sheryl), and Sheddrick Preston all of Ocala, FL. Claudette also leaves her love to a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
May her spirit live on in the hearts of those she loved and nurtured. Claudette's legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
