Charmayne Chere Henry was born in Ocala, Florida, on October 22, 1991, to Pamela Boyd (formerly Wilson) and the late Herbert Theodore (“Teddy”) Henry.
Charmayne completed her primary education in the Alachua County Public School system and graduated from Newberry High School in June of 2010. After high school, she attended technical college and was licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2022.
A true blessing to her family from the very beginning, Charmayne loved and cherished spending time with her mother, siblings, niece, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her and AJ loved fishing, and she loved growing vegetables at home, and cooking. She also loved to do hair and to host her private dance and praise parties! She was in a long-term relationship with Adrain (“AJ”) McLendon. They had 2 dogs that she loved and cared for as her children.
Charmayne’s life was marked by devotion to God and caring for others. She carried herself with poise and grace, but was bout-it-bout-it about her mother, siblings, niece, nephews, and AJ! In 2024, Charmayne traveled with her mother to Jamaica to celebrate her mother’s 50th Birthday on a prayer retreat! Although there was spiritual battling, God received the glory with Charmayne giving her life to the Lord. The ladies were all blessed from her choice and her presence there. Her mother raised them to know that above ANYTHING else in this world, to know the Lord and have relationship with him was MOST important. Charmayne and her mother had many conversations and discussions about the Lord, and things going on in the world planning for what the family needed to do to survive. Charmayne loved serenity and peace and was leaving her place of peace when this tragic event happened.
Charmayne was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Theodore Henry; her grandparents Marion and Albertha Wilson; her aunt, Samantha Wilson; and her uncle, Tracy Henry.
Charmayne leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Pamela Boyd (Anthony) of Brunswick, Georgia; her grandfather, James (Nyanza) Parrish of Savannah, Georgia; her sisters Teyanna Wilson of Kingsland, Georgia and D’Aviyon Wilson of Brunswick; her brothers De’Vante Davis of Brunswick and DaMarrion Kendrick of Savannah; her aunts, Dorine Dempsey, Dorothy Worlds, Chinell Henry, Trashonda Pugh, Tammy (Michael) McGee, Feodorsher Parrish, Shauntae Moss, Adalina Dudley, Patricia Sello, Hazel Rhodes, Angela Bedford, Beverly Lassiter, Jacqueline Rhodes, Veronica Owens, Sheila Rice, and Tonia Garnett; her uncles, Johnny Whitehead, Theodore Davis, Jr., Alton Johnson, Melvin Rhodes, Kenneth Rhodes, Avery Rhodes, William Rhodes, Jr., and Alonzo Blockett; one niece, Mikiyah Wilson; three nephews, Jahmel Moate, Jamir Moate, and JeShawn Tinney; her godmother, Daphne Robinson; her godsiblings, Breah Miller, Anthony Miller, Candyce Miller, Reginald Shaw, II, and Chase Shaw; and a host of cousins and sorrowing friends.
