Charles Edwin Brown, Jr. was born on May 4, 1982, to the union of Brenda Lewanda Dawson and Charles Edwin Brown, Sr. at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fl.
Charlie received his formal education in the Marion County public school system, starting with Belleview Elementary. He graduated from Vanguard High School in Ocala, Florida.
Charlie grew up in Belleview, Florida where his paternal grandparents lived. The family had some religious influence from the holiness Church of God by Faith. At times, Charlie was seen reading the Bible.
Charlie was employed in Orange County, Florida. He served in the school systems working with special needs and behavioral students. He more recently gained employment at Advent Hospital in Ocala, Florida where he applied the same skills to instructing others who worked with children as well as adults with special needs.
Charlie was close to his mother. He became ill in recent years after her passing when she succumbed to cancer.
Initially he was a quiet little fellow. He proved to be a friendly young man who enjoyed meeting people. During one incident, Charlie was at a store with his brother Dexter. It seems they became separated and when he was found, Charlie was fluently "signing" with a deaf person. It seems that Charlie saved the day. His brother was amazed.
When Charlie came to town he enjoyed connecting with family. He was multi-talented, and he was truly artistic. His desire was to become a doctor, as told to Dexter. He had hopes of recovering from his sick bed.
He passed on Sept. 24, 2024, and was preceded in death by his mother Brenda Lewanda Dawson and sister Taukiya Dawson-Bostick.
Charlie is survived by his siblings, brothers Laxavier Johnson, Codrick Brown, Dexter Dawson; sisters, Latarsha Dawson, and Shaconda Dawson; grandmother Annie Bea Autry-Thomas, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, October 5, 2024, 10:00am at Oasis of Hope COGBF, 10400 SE 62nd Avenue Road. Belleview, Fl. 34420
