"AT THE REQUEST OF THE FAMILY, MASK WILL BE WORN"
"SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE PRACTICED"
Betty had a talk with God and He said You are getting weary So He did what He thought best. He came and stood beside her
and whispered come and rest. You bid no one a last farewell, not even a goodbye You were gone before we knew it
and only God knows why.
Ms. Betty Jean Stocker was born on June 24, 1950 to Thomas and Lucille W. Stocker in Ocala, Florida.
She was educated in Marion County Florida Public Schools and attended Fessenden School.
Betty believed in God and trusted Him to do what she could not.
Her hobbies included playing cards, fishing and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren.
To her children she was the strongest woman ever known, her words of wisdom and encouragement kept them in line as she taught them the School of Hard Knocks. She wasn’t afraid of anyone. It was through the School of Hard Knocks that Betty developed an extensive vocabulary for cursing. Everyone knew where they stood with her, she either liked you or she didn’t, it was black and white. If you crossed her she would step to you, throw down if she had to and was guaranteed to come out the winner. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. We are thankful that God is a forgiving God and a merciful Father.
In addition to her parents Thomas and Lucille Stocker, she was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.
On July 13, 2020 Betty traded her sorrows, pain and disappointments for a seat in paradise where every day is howdy-howdy and never goodbye. Sleep on Betty, take your rest, we loved you, but God loved you best.
Betty will be sorely missed and her memories cherished by her children, William Stocker (Gloria), Lawrence Vereen (Latonia) and Quincy McCoy (Craig) all of Ocala; grand children, Travis Vereen, Shawanda Vereen, Santana Vereen, Tatyana McCoy, Lawrence Vereen and Latiana Vereen all of Ocala; missing her the most are her great grand’s, Emari, Jeremiah, Ray’nia Tre’suri, Anyra Ty’lan and Braelynn Vereen and Alayiah Matadeen; her brothers, Earnest Williams (Margaret) and John Williams both of Ft. Pierce, Thomas Stocker of St. Louis, and Jimmy Stocker (Gladys) of Lowell; her sister, Annett Wright of Ocala; brother in law, Robert Johnson of Ocala; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
