On January 20, 1944 in Barnesville, Georgia, Ms. Ardell Barber was blessed with a baby boy, and named him, Benny Edward Barber.
Benny was educated in the Public Schools of Cook County, graduating from Booker High.
As a young man Benny traveled to several states and later to Orlando Florida where he met and married Patroina Carter and was blessed with two beautiful children, Benita and Benny, Jr. He later moved to Ocala. In Benny’s travel he gained employment with Coco Construction Company. He was a dedicated and a hard worker Benny was named Foreman within the company until he retired.
Benny, a cool, laid back kind of guy would come home from many long days of hard labor to relax with his family and friends. He enjoyed his special libation and listening to music, one of his favorite singers was Betty Wright; he enjoyed all sports with a special interest in college games.
Benny was preceded in death by his mother, Ardell Barber; his sister and brother in law, Peggy and Dan Merritt; his brother William Harris; and his aunt, Millie Sutton.
Imagine on April 29th that Benny and the Father (using the song titles of Betty Wright); had A little Pillow Talk and Benny tells him about the Pain; Benny ask Where Is the Love and the Fathers says, You Can’t See for Looking, because No Pain, No Gain, the Father say’s for Tonight Is The Night that I take you From Pain to Joy. cause Lovin’ Is Really My Game then Benny turns and say to this old world, Goodbye You, Hello Him, Thank You For The Many Things You’ve Done, For Love Alone……..
