Celebration of Life of
Annie Lois Wells
Sunrise: November 10, 1956 ~ Sunset: January 28, 2026
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. ~Psalm 73:26
Annie Lois Thomas-Wells was born on November 10, 1956, to the union of Charlie Thomas and Inell Smith-Thomas in Homerville, Georgia.
Educated in the public schools of Clinch County, Georgia. Annie Lois was born of the Christian faith and was united with the former Church of God that Christ Established on Forest Avenue in Homerville and later joined Elizabeth Baptist Church in Argyle, Georgia. She was an Avid Bible reader.
On October 5, 1974, Annie Lois Thomas was joined in Holy Matrimony to Clifford Wells in Ridgeland, SC and their union was blessed with four children. The love that the pair shared was honored by God. Clifford, a man dedicated to his wife, worked hard to support her and his children. Annie occasionally picked up small, odd jobs but hardly ever worked outside of the home.
Annie loved her family; she was stern and firm when she needed to be. She always had a listening ear and ready advice for all who called or came by. She adored her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings while talking about current events or the way things used to be. She loved being pampered with fresh hairdos, painted nails and foot massages.
With grace and peace, Annie entered safe passage from this walk of life on January 28, 2026, joining those that have gone on before her. She was preceded in death by both her parents, Charlie and Inell Thomas, her brother Bruce Godwin, stepfather, Benjamin F. Speed; grandson, Dennis AJ Martin; great granddaughter Kali J'Nese Wells.
Annie’s loving spirit touched countless lives, leaving behind cherished memories that will never fade. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 51 years, Clifford Wells Jr. of Fargo; her children, Clifford L. Wells (Melissa) of Fargo, Timothy Wells (Tova) of Homerville, Hosanna “Ann” Johnson of Hinesville and Elizabeth Rose Wells of Homerville; 2 blended bonus sons, Avery Ponder and David Miller; 15 grandchildren, Brittany Wells, Tashondra Harris, Kanesha Hogan (Markyre), Tieanna Wells, Denise Johnson, Danielle Gainey, Clifton CJ Johnson, Marvin P. Gainey, Davion Miller, Aliyah Miller, Tiffany Lewis, Jeremy Lewis, Derrick Johnson, Amber Martin and Diquan Martin; 21 great grandchildren;
Her siblings, Mary H. Armstrong, Charlie Thomas (Francine), R. Kate Thomas, Donnie R. Thomas and Brenda Carol Mincey; Bonus Sisters, Mae Helen Wilkerson, Leola Sanders and Lorraine Bryant; Sister-in-law, Elvina Boone; brother-in-law, Andrew Wells (Ann); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul.
