Annie B (Autry) Thomas

On October 8, 1930, God made a deposit so fine, A precious gift wrapped in love, with a purpose divine, and though He returned to make a withdrawal, 94 years later, the legacy of love and life remains, an eternal, heavenly treasure.

Annie B. Autry-Thomas was born on October 8, 1930, to Tom and Lillie Autry. She was educated in the Public Schools of Marion County. She was married to Willie A. Thomas until his passing.

Annie was employed as a cook and a homemaker for several years in Ocala, she was a great fisherman and loved spending time with her family and friends.

For 94 years, she toiled on this earthly plane, seeking to serve and honor God's holy name, and though her body became weakened and faded, her spirit remained strong, in faith and love unafraid.

When I come to the end of my journey on earth, and my mortal body returns to the earth, I know that my soul will soar to new birth, In the arms of the Lord, where love and joy have no dearth.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lillie Autry; her husband, Willie A. Thomas; sons, Leander Dawson and Willie Thomas, Jr.; daughters, Brenda Dawson, Cynthia Thomas, and Lila Mae Thomas; siblings, Leroy Autry, Cleroy Autry, Warren Autry, Wilson Smith, Barbara Starkes, Lillie Mae Chatman and Adell Autry.

Annie left a treasure trove of great memories to be cherished by her children, Sylvester Johnson, Marie Young (Thomas), Bernice Dawson, Marilyn Williams (Wallace), Stanley Dawson, Ricky Thomas, Debra Thomas, Carolyn Thomas-Luther (Ernest), Calvin Thomas; brother, Isaiah Autry (Carolyn); niece, Lauretha Grimes Mount; 30 grandchildren; 72 great, grandchildren; 26 great, great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL 34475.

Services for Mrs. Annie B. Thomas will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Immerse Church of Ocala, 5105 N. Hwy 441, Ocala, FL 34475.
