Alva Marie Farmer Hale known as “Sister” was born on September 27, 1952, to Edward Farmer Sr. and Lillie Mae Gilyard Farmer in Ocala, Florida.
She was the second child born amongst five siblings.
She was educated in the Marion County Public Schools and received her high school diploma in 1970 from Fessenden High School. She furthered her education at Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida.
Mother Hale accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She served faithfully as a choir member. She led many songs, and her harmonic voice uplifted many spirits. She continued her walk of faith at Green Pastures Worship Center in Ocala, Florida as Mother of the Church, Assistant Youth Coordinator, and Bible Study Secretary until her health failed.
God blessed her with one son Reverend Mauricio Farmer.
She was a member of the New Bethel Chapter #66, Order of Eastern Stars under the protection of Bethlehem Grand Chapter. At one time she held a position of worthy matron.
Alva Marie was united in holy matrimony to her soulmate Luches Hale on May 29, 2014.
Alva Marie thoughtfulness’s kindness, and helpful spirit towards others was shown in her administrative position at Shands Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.
She later performed support work at Marion County HRS. A genuine love and special touch with children led her to a career path of working with children. She held a position of caring for children at Lifetime-Fitness Center in Ocala, Florida.
She later dedicated herself as a nanny to one specific family the Fischers. She gave graciously, and affectionately to each of them until her retirement.
She was proceeded in death by both her parents, two brothers Ronnie Farmer Sr. and Harold Farmer, her son Reverend Mauricio Farmer.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband Luches Hale of Blitchton, Fl; brother, Edward Farmer Jr. (Carolyn) of Ocala, FL; sister Bernadette Clayton (Reverend Dr. Raymond) of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania; adopted brother, Terrance Farmer Blitchton, FL; a sister-in-law Alma Lee Albritton of Jasper, FL; daughter-in-law Vanessa Farmer Ocala, FL; one grandson Joshua Shelton (Sherelle) of Tallahassee, FL; two great grandchildren Bailee and Joshua Shelton Jr. of Tallahassee FL; two aunts Ruby Burnett of Lindenwold, NJ and Dimple Gilyard of Atlanta, Ga; a godson Reverend James Pullings, Sr., of Ocala, FL; a goddaughter Mariah Thomas of Ocala, FL; and a host of caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends and caretaker Angie Mack.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 12:00 until 4:00PM at Summers Funeral Home 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, Fl 34475.
Wake Service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Green Pasture Worship Center, 1818 NW Old Blitchton Road, Ocala, FL 34475.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11:00AM at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 14486 West Highway 326, Morriston, FL 32668.
