A Time to be Born
Albert Garvin, Sr., was born on February 1, 1938 to Jessie Garvin, Sr. and Inez Williams Garvin in Palatka, Florida.
A Time to Live
Albert attended Putnam County Public Schools in Palatka. He worked and retired from Concrete Pipe Plant Manufacturing. He enjoyed sports and “trash talking”.
A Time to Love
Albert was joined in holy matrimony on August 21, 1961, in Daytona Beach, Florida to Ruby McGee. This union was blessed with one son.
A Time to Serve
Albert accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He later became a member of Zion United Methodist Church where he was a faithful supporter of the church ministries.
A Time to Die
Albert transitioned from his earthly home to be present with the Lord on October 24, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Albert Curtis, two brothers and three sisters.
A Time to Say Goodbye
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife of 61 years, Ruby Garvin, son, Albert Garvin, Jr.; daughter, Ernestine Garvin, both of South Bend, Indiana; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; aunt, Bernice Baker, Palatka, Florida; brother-in-law, A.C. Hinds, East Palatka, Florida; sisters-in-law, Mary Lee Williams, Rochester, New York, Marie Green, Jacksonville, North Caroline, Annie J. Henderson, Waterford, Connecticut; godson, John (Lynette) Atkinson, Jr., Ocala; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala 34475.
Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00AM at Zion United Methodist Church, 510 NW Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave. Ocala, Fl 34475.
