Theresa Brown

Theresa was born to Tom Hill and Airrie Tate on July 12, 1922, in Palmetto, Florida. After spending a brief time in Punta Gorda, Florida, the family settled in Belleview, Florida in what was known as Tate’s Quarters. Theresa was partially raised by her grandmother, Mattie Tate, and attended school at the former Belleview-Santos High School.

Theresa entered into Holy Matrimony with James W. Brown, Sr. in February 1949. In 1952, she surrendered her life to the Lord at Church of God by Faith where she served faithfully as the Burial League Secretary, Spiritual Guide Reporter, and worked with the Youth Ministry. She was a mother of nine children: six girls and three boys.

During the latter years of her life, she was a resident of Warner Robins, Georgia; Ocala, Florida; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Montgomery, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband James, her son Thomas Brown, and daughter Rosa Faison.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Myra Wright of Ocala, Florida; James W. Brown, Jr. of Tallahassee, Florida; Celia Holman (Jerome) of Copperas Cove, Texas; Teresa Preston (Walter) of Montgomery, Alabama; Charles Brown of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mary Brown of Tampa, Florida; and Carolyn Anderson (Anthony) of Ocala, Florida. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Public Viewing will be on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 10 AM until time of service at Community Church of God by Faith 10400 SE 62nd Avenue Road. Belleview, Florida.

Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Community Church of God by Faith 10400 SE 62nd Avenue Road. Belleview, Florida.

Elder James T. Ware, Eulogist. Final Interment will follow at Ramah Cemetery, Belleview, FL.
