Mr. Summers is a graduate of Vanguard High School - Class of 1974. He received an A.S. Degree in 1983 from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service and was licensed by the State of Florida in 1984. In 1985, Summers Funeral Home was established 

Mr. Summers experience include DJ Brown Funeral Home (1974) and Ocala Police Department as a Patrol Officer (1975). In 1982 he took a leave of absence from the Ocala Police Department as a Homicide Detective to attend Mortuary college.

Alvis enjoys being a referee for football and basketball games. He served on the Marion County Sheriff Department Advisory Board and as President of Mid Florida Official Association.  He is an active member of the Masonic Order and currently hold the following positions: Past Master of R.R. Bailey Lodge #486; District Deputy Grand Master of District 19; Royal Arch for Mt. Pisgah Chapter #105; University City Consistory #277; United Supreme Council (33º); andHarram Temple #23 A. E.A.O.N.M.S.

He is the father of 3 daughters: Amelia Neal-Spears, Cassandra Sharice Lewis and Adrian Summers-Dixon; 5 grands and 1 great grand.

Reverend Harold N. Damon

Rev. Harold was raised in Ocala, FL and graduated from Belleview Santos High School and Gammon Interdenominational Seminary.  He is the Assistant Pastor at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Orange Lake, FL.

He is the Director of Public Relations 2nd Bethlehem Baptist Association and a member of Florida General Baptist Convention, Inc., National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., Florida Broadcaster Association, andNational Broadcaster Association.

Rev. Damon is a board member for Habitat for Humanity of Marion County, City of Ocala Airport Advisory Board, Marion County Voter's League, Florida Voter's League, Interfaith of Marion County, Downtown Development Commission, and City of Ocala Community Development Commission.

He is the Vice President for the Afro-American Council of Marion County and the founder and host of Power of the Gospel WKSG 89.5fm Radio Show.

Rev. Damon currently resides in Ocala, FL and enjoys football, politics, traveling, gospel activities.  He is the father of Craig Damon, Karen Mackey and Kimberly James.

Cassandra S. Lewis

Cassandra S. Lewis

Funeral Director Assistant

Cassandra was born in Anthony, FL and is a graduate of Forest High School - Class of 1994. She attended Webster College in 2000 and received her A.S. Degree as a Medical Assistant. She is currently majoring in Funeral Services.

She resides in Ocala, FL where she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and shopping. She is the mother of Terrance Lewis, Sr., Kaliyah Cook and Abrianna Lewis and the grandmother of Terrance Lewis, Jr.  Cassandra is the daughter of Mr. Al Summers

Cassandra S. Lewis has been with Summers Funeral Home for 17 years.


Deacon Charles Shelton

Charles is from Ocala, FL and is a graduate of Howard High - Class of 1957. He attended Hampton Jr. College in 1958 and majored in Psychology. 

He is the Head Deacon at Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.  He resides in Ocala, FL and enjoys swimming.  He is married to Jackquline Shelton and is the father of Charles Shelton, Jr. and Courtney Shelton.

Deacon Charles Shelton has been with Summers Funeral Home for 20 years.
