Robert LeCorn, Jr Obituary

Mr. Robert LeCorn, Jr., affectionately known as, “Sugar Man”, was born on February 7, 1941, in Santos, Florida to Robert LeCorn, Sr. and Mary Ann LeCorn.

Robert was a graduate of Belleview Santos High School, Class of 1959, where he played on the football team.  He served three years in the United States Army during the Berlin War in Germany from 1959 to 1962.  Robert was employed for over 53 years as an over the Road Truck Driver.  He was a member of New Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Fathers’ Board.

Mr. Robert LeCorn, Jr. transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal home with the Lord on February 26, 2024, Ocala, Florida.

He is predeceased by his parents, Robert Sr. and Mary Ann LeCorn, brothers, Henry LeCorn, Lawrence LeCorn, Calvin LeCorn, Sr. and Everett LeCorn, paternal grandparents, Henry and Mattie LeCorn, maternal grandparents, Orlando and Victoria Damon, aunts, uncles and a niece, Tara Elaine Shelton-Sessoms.

He leaves to cherish precious memories…

His wife of 53 years, Serender Hamilton-LeCorn; children, Robert Weems (Melinda), Jacquelyn LeCorn-McCoy (Donavan), Robbie LeCorn (Bobbi Jo), Dr. Demetrick LeCorn (John), Jacqueline Trowers, Charlie Harrison (Denise) and Donnie Harrison (Norris), brothers, Charles LeCorn, Command Sgt. Major Larry LeCorn (Dora), Reverend Dr. Bernard LeCorn (Karina) and Don LeCorn; sisters, Rose LeCorn-Jackson, Joyce Ann LeCorn-Shelton and Geraldine LeCorn-Baxter; uncle, Harold Damon; aunts, Irene Donar and Eliza Damon; brothers-in-law, Ed Lynum, Earnest Neal, Emanuel Hamilton, Oscar Hamilton, Eddie Hamilton, Nathaniel Hamilton, Kent Hamilton and Kenneth Hamilton; sisters-in-law, Eartha Hamilton, Felecia LeCorn, Ocee Neal, Deloris Lynum, Earnestine Hamilton, Maxine Hamilton and Sinteria Hamilton; grandchildren, Sheena Mobley, Shakera Mobley, TaˊMara LeCorn, Ciera Chisholm, Desiree Gomillion, Chanel Hilbert (Lewis), Audrey Gomillion, Naajuan Harrison, Jordan Pool, Robert Trent LeCorn, Shyiem Smoker, Anthony Smoker, Jazmyne Jones, Javia Smoker, Jalea Harrison, Axel LeCorn, Ayanna LeCorn, Keishara Weems, Rina Weems, Keirhonda Weems, Robert Weems, Jr., Ricardo Weems and Robin Epps-Palmer; 27 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends; and special thanks to: Ms. Cynthia Taylor and April Gomillion.

Public viewing will be Friday, March 8, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL. 34475.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, 11:00AM at New Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 9225 SW 27th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34476.
