Minister Arthur Cobb, JR Obituary

Arthur Lee Cobb Jr. was born January 1, 1942, to the late Bro. Arthur Lee Cobb and Sis. Etta May Cobb in Cordele GA.

At an early age he accepted Christ and joined Beautiful Zion Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia.

Early in life Junior, as he was fondly called, relocated to Chicago, Illinois, Detroit Michigan, and later to Miami, FL. He retired from Carolina Freight/ABF Freight in 2002 and moved to Ocala, Cotton Plant, FL.  Arthur accepted the call to ministry and became a licensed minister in 2003.  He served the Lord in various ways, namely as leader of noon day prayer service for a few years.

Minister Cobb was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and one sister.  He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 42 years, Ernestine Cobb, five daughters, Carlene Beller, and Wanda Daley of Detroit, MI; Chassitte Cobb of Chicago, IL; Vivian Cobb Holley of Missouri City, TX and Sharon (Daniel) Siplin of Winter Garden, FL.  Two Sisters, Dorothy Jordan of Americus, GA and Sarah Cobb of Detroit, MI. Nine Grandchildren, Terry Beeler, Kaylah Dawson, Idris Holley, Jahan Holley, Kiran Holley, Nakisha (Waijid) Mitchell, Dorothy Siplin, Daniel (Nobely) Siplin III and Donnovan (Desire’) Siplin.  Seventeen great grandchildren, seven sisters- in-laws, Ernestine Hamilton, Lavenia Perry, Lillian Sloan, Beatrice Cobb, Algerea (Samuel) Council, Althea Neal Ramsay and Carol Mack-Harrell.  One brother in law, William Hamilton; three God children; Adrian (Lucien) Dixon; Orlando, FL; DeShaun (Kevin) Humes, Miami, FL; Marvin (Shawanda) Collins, Ocala; two devoted nieces: Cheryl (Ertell) Henry and Sarah  Ann Cobb of Americus, GA; two devoted nephews Larry Cobb, Americus, GA and Bobbie (Dee) Cobb of Atlanta, GA, and the Gilbreath family; Last but not least a devoted cousin and friend, George Lattimore as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 1:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, Fl 34475.

Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:00AM at Wesley Chapel UME Church, 12264 West Highway 40, Ocala, FL 34481
