Abraham W. Shelton, Jr. was born on August 9, 1934, in Ocala, Florida to the late Abraham W. Shelton, Sr. and Nora Hope Shelton.
As a child, he grew up in Mt. Canaan, FL where he attended Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend James Blunt. He later mover his membership to Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. George W. Lee and current Pastor, Dr. Edward Bland.
He attended Marion County Public Schools and graduated from Howard Academy in 1954. He furthered his education and graduated from Gupton-Jones Mortuary School in Atlanta, Georgia receiving his A.S. degree in 1985.
He met and married his beloved wife of 58 years, the late Dorothy Pittman Shelton. To this union five children were born, three which preceded him in death.
He retired from Certified Groceries 30+ years. He was an active Funeral Director Assistant. He was a member of the Dove Travelers. He was faithful member of the Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. He was totally committed to the Lord's work. Abraham touched so many lives and was loved by so many people.
On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, God saw fit to call his servant home. In departing his earthly home, Brother Abraham Wallace Shelton, Jr. leaves to share and cherish loving memories:

Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 515 NW 6th Terrace. Ocala, Florida, 34475.
