Deacon Amos Strickland, 87

Deacon Amos Strickland was born on October 6, 1930 in Edgar, Florida. He was the son of the late Ralph Swain and the late Easter Strickland Fisher. He graduated from Fessenden Academy. He served in the US Army and retired from the US Postal Service as a mail carrier.

Deacon Strickland leaves to cherish his memories a son: Mark Avery Strickland; seven goddaughters: Margo Turner, Juanita Williams, Karen Christon, Willa Monroe, LaTricia Green Irvine, Erica Reese and Beverline Irvine Pierce and one godson Neil Alexander. Three sisters; Targie Rhim, Gussie Mae Hamilton and Gracie Mae (Charlie) Herring. Two brothers; Freddie Fisher and Raleigh Dolphus Fisher

Public viewing will be on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 12 noon until 6pm at Summers Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:00pm at Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church, 8792 NW 38th Ave Rd, Ocala, Florida 34482,
